The College of education and behavioral sciences is one of the colleges established in 2012, under Woldia University. It was established to achieve the three pillars of higher education institutions – providing teaching learning, demand driven community engagement and technology transfer, and conducting problem solving researches.

The college aims to bring rapid, sustainable and economic growth by accomplishing the three missions. The College started in 2012 by launching Psychology and Pedagogical Science with composite Geography and environmental science. The college was started with one professor and eight lecturers.
